It was a good start to this series and an interesting story premise. The characters felt well developed except for the male dragon. A little more work there would have been nice but I realize the story about who Ruby was and how she got to where she was is important to set the tone of the series. Ruby is born from two dragons but raised in a lab along with her 10 other sisters. She has been controlled since her conception. She is part of a project to help correct the instability in the universe. With dimensional travel there has been far reaching consequences that are just starting to be felt.
When Ruby travels to other worlds, she is given her first tastes of freedom, but she is forced to continue to return to the lab. She is further stunned to meet a male dragon, especially when he appears to be as intrigued by her as she is by him. Can he help her to be granted the freedom she desires, and let a love bloom?
Two of my favorite authors have finally teamed up to bring us the D.A.R.E. Project series. And I found with Ruby Dare that they don't disappoint. The writing styles mesh well together and they each have a wonderful Sci-Fi imagination that they are able to create characters that are believable and in worlds you can imagine.
In Ruby Dare we are introduced to the concept behind not only the dragons but how dimensional jumps could cause far reaching harm. We are also able to see a woman progress and learn that she is really more than anyone has given her credit for. She is also able to realize that she could live a life free and with a mate. I was pulled in from the beginning of Ruby Dare and not let go until I finished the last sentence.

I love this series! Viola has never ceased to captivate her readers and this is no exception! I can't wait for more!!
There is no story here. Its like simply the opening act. The protagonist goes out on 2 very short missions. Goes on her third mission, meets the hero, and bam they are mated and The End. No drama, no real danger.
Defiantly not worth $4.
It was a good start to this series and an interesting story premise. The characters felt well developed except for the male dragon.
